Of all the green foods, this one might be the very best!
ASK AN ADULT FOR HELP WITH slicing the avocados and taking out the pits
from Honest Pretzels
Guacamole is made from avocados, which are heavy, pear-shaped fruits that grow on trees. They are not sweet and juicy like other fruit. Instead, they are thick and rich, wiht a gentle, quiet flavor. When you mash them up and add a few zesty seasonings, they make a great dip for tortilla chips. It's really fun to have some salsa on hand, so you can dip the chips into the guacamole and then into the salsa.
Note: Guacamole loses its color if it sits around for too long. Putting the avocado pits back in helps keep the color bright.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
- Citrus juicer
- Small, sharp knife and a cutting board (or garlic press) for mincing garlic
- Dinner knife
- Soup spoon
- Shallow dish for quacamole
- Fork
- Measuring spoons
